What is Hillel? The Ball State Hillel is a member
of the national organization. It welcomes all students whether
they are
Jewish or just interested in learning about Judaism and Jewish life on
campus. The National Hillel Organization is the largest Jewish
campus
organization in the world. It gives students opportunities to
observe
their Jewish heritage while being away at college. One of the
national organization's main initiatives is its Birthright
Israel program. Through the foundation, Jewish students between the
ages 18 and 25 can travel to Israel for FREE!
The Ball State Hillel is supported
by, but not connected to Temple
Beth El congregation. The Temple allows students to attend
and
participate in both Shabbat and High Holy Days services. Every
year,
the temple holds a 2nd night Passover seder that students may also
attend. If you are interested in becoming involved in Hillel or if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Hillel or Lindsay Gross, the president of the chapter. |
